Time to Chill

A day to relax. I was surfing around in the morning for information about Sharp phones. The exciting news for me is the fact that they can be fully flashed with another firmware. This means in a sense that it can be fully unlocked. If I can manage to get my hands on a cheap phone from Japan, this means at least for certain I can use it without restriction here in Hong Kong. I'm planning on picking one up for my younger brother as well.

I made plans to meet up with Ada and Gloria afterwards down in Causeway Bay. Kobe showed up as well while we were having lunch. I needed to find an IDD service provider, today is Hyun Jeon's birthday. I haven't spoken to my Korean friends for a while, calling Korea is not cheap from Hong Kong. Everyone tried to help me out but we really couldn't settle on a plan. Eventually Gloria connected me to one of her plans (1579). Probably not the cheapest but at least I have an option for calling home if I need to. We went shopping for a little bit and then everyone separated. I was trying to decide what to do when out of luck I ran into Priscilla. I was lucky because she saw me walking in the middle of the street and waved. I love hanging around with her in HK, Priscilla knows her places. She was going to pick up tickets for tomorrow night so I went with her to buy the tickets and then to pick up her car. Basically I was helping her carry the stack of brooms she had bought at Justco. I guess they were for a game she plans to play tomorrow with her kids. We decided to eat some Shanghai food over at Times Square but we had to wait "15 minutes". Okay, it is ALWAYS a 15 minute wait, but really we waited nearly an hour for our table. The food was good though, we had a bit of a problem getting out of the parking lot (my Octopus card was out of money) but managed to get out eventually.

I went to meet up with Ada briefly afterwards for some dessert. She is lending me a book, Tuesday's with Morrie, that Karen had recommended to me one day while we were chilling. She has to do an assignment for her class at Hong Kong University. We talked briefly about her plans to study abroad in Canada. Moving to another country by yourself is tough. I totally have a new respect for those foreign students in Canada.
