Hong Kong Fashion Week

Friday I met up with one of the twins who needed to help her friend mail some picture books to a group of Fahrenheit fans. I was in no hurry, but my friend took half a day off just to get this done. I had picked up the books for her previously and Namie Amuro's new CD as well for her. The guy at the shop packaged all the books in a box and then included a bunch of puzzles and posters. The box was a decent weight with all the books and because I had to carry the posters in one hand I only had one other hand to carry the box which made it a harder to move around. I met up with Janice at the new McDonalds in Langham Place, but on my way I somehow managed to drop her Namie Amuro poster. She thought I was kidding, I wish I was kidding, I had to separate the poster from the rest of the Fahrenheit posters and it must of slipped out from the whole roll while I was walking and moving the heavy box between my hands. So the first stroke of bad luck was that she lost her Amuro poster. We took the box to the Mong Kok post office and decided to get a bigger box to package all the books in. When we took out all the books to move them from the one box to the other we noticed that we were missing one book, but we had an extra copy of some other guy's picture book (Keita Tachibana). We tried calling the shop to ask them to send someone to deliever the book, but obviously they refused and that just annoyed the hell out of my friend. With the blistering Hong Kong heat she was starting to feel fairly emotional. We took a taxi back to the shop, but where the taxi driver dropped us off wasn't exactly close to where we asked him to. We had already paid him and he just took off. That just added more fuel to the fire.
We quickly got things exchanged at the shop and tried for I would say nearly half an hour to get a taxi back to the post office. There was only one taxi that would stop for us. The taxi that did stop, was the dumbest taxi driver in all of Hong Kong. He had no clue where the post office was even though it was literally about 5 blocks down the street. He told us that we needed to find another taxi and we just ended up walking it instead. My friend was complaining bitterly at this point and told me to go home and she stormed off towards the post office angrily. It pretty much looked like a lovers quarrel, everyone was staring at us. Eventually we ended up getting to the post office and getting the package all fixed up and sent. Her bad day didn't exactly stop there though, she took a taxi home so that she could take a shower before coming out again, but found out she didn't have her keys on her.
Saturday I met up with Evita again for some Tennis. Afterwards I went clubbing. I tried to meet up with Aaron at Prive, but the line was annoying and it was so hot so I ended up going to find Cheryl and her friends at Sugar. We ended up going to Prive afterwards and met up with Aaron, Joyce, and their friend Debbie. There were a bunch of issues happening that night. I learned that not only are men generally unfaithful in Hong Kong, but the girls are quite unfaithful as well. Sorry I shouldn't generalize like this, obviously this isn't the case everywhere, but I've just seen it more here.
I went to Terence to play tennis on Sunday. He's just getting back into the game. He managed to break his tennis shoes on the court and ended up going home before we started our games (we practice for about 2 hours). It was a really hot day though, but I think we both got a good work out.
I went to Wan Chai on the 11th for Hong Kong Fashion Week. Which is just something that happens down at the Convention Centre. I guess it is put on by TDC, a competitor to Global Sources, and show cases different garment manufacturers. I went with Joyce and her co-worker Ruby. Strangely enough I ran into friends there. Marcio the Brazilian model was walking in at the same time we were. Cherie was there doing some buying and sourcing, Rudy was there apparently working at a booth. There really wasn't much to see there. It was more of a training session for Ruby who works for Diesel.
