The CHAV factor
Wendy surprised me in a conversation this morning. She's always looking out for me, and her latest warning was that maybe I might be heading towards being CHAV. Apparently this is some frequently used derogatory slang being used in the UK. Though the definition still isn't clear apparently you have to be a cross between a prick and a poser. For instance, I guess a CHAV will buy many fake Burberry items. Luckily for me I am a fake CHAV since most of my items are real... except 2 that are questionable. Thanks Wendy, you are always making me worry about something new! I think I should ask Karen, she spent some time in England working (She was mugged by some CHAVs I believe...).I wasted most of the day swapping PC parts with my brother. He just recieved his new 19" Samsung LCD monitor yesterday. It really is nice, the total size is smaller than my 17" NEC LCD (because of the housing) but of course it is 2" larger in terms of viewing area. The model he picked up is a 930B I believe. It is digital so the images are quite sharp. He has a dead pixel and I encourage him to exchange it quickly before his no hassel return policy date is up. I had to exchange my LCD at least once when I bought it originally. It really bothers me having dead pixels.
Some other good news, I recieved my Toshiba webcam for my notebook today. I have to say, it really is hard to beat the Japanese when it comes to good looking designs. This is just a rebranded Logitech Notebook Pro camera but the white and silver match my computer so well. Also Yoji sent me 2 carrying cases, one for SD media cards, and the other for compact flash media. My father has a tendency to misplace his extra CF card so I wanted him to have this case. These cases are designed so nicely. The look is actually quite cute.
I finally found a program to allow me to enter unicode characters into my mp3 ID3 tags. I spent most of the morning fixing my mp3s but I will probalby give up soon, there are too many to fix. I'm a little disappointed, the weather turned
